Code of Conduct

“But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’” 1 Peter 1:15-16

All participants will let his or her “light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matt. 5:16). Participants will conduct themselves at all times in such a way as to bring honor and glory to the Lord Jesus Christ.

1. Participants and mentors will refrain from the consumption of any and all alcoholic beverages while attending the Academy.

2. Participants and mentors will refrain from the use of any and all tobacco products while attending the Academy.

3. Participants and mentors will dress in such a way so as not to draw negative attention to themselves, or in such a way as to possibly cause another brother or sister in Christ to stumble. The dress code for the Academy is casual, modest, and presentable.

4. Participants and mentors will refrain from wearing Christian apparel during all street evangelism activities. There are few exceptions to this rule.

5. Participants and mentors who are booked in a hotel will not enter the hotel room of a participant or mentor of the opposite sex.

6. Participants and mentors who are booked in a hotel will refrain from viewing any overtly violent, sexually explicit, and/or blasphemous television programs or movies in their hotel room.

7. Participants and mentors will respect the staff and facilities of the Academy host facility.

8. Participants and mentors who are booked in a hotel will not distribute gospel tracts in the hotel. There is good reason for this. However, tactful one-to-one conversations with hotel staff and guests are encouraged.

9. Participants will respectfully cooperate with

their mentors during all street evangelism activities.

10. Participants will not wander away from designated street evangelism areas without first notifying their mentor.

11. Participants and mentors will submit to the authority of any and all law enforcement officials (e.g. police department) during all street evangelism activities. It will be the responsibility of each mentor to immediately contact a member of the Academy staff if his team is contacted, in an official enforcement capacity, by law enforcement.

12. During outreach events, participants will immediately contact their team mentor if they are injured or become ill. Team mentors will, in turn, immediately contact a member of the Academy staff.

13. Participants will participate in all Academy activities and will be on time to all sessions, meetings, meals (if applicable), and departures from the hotel (if applicable) and street evangelism locations.

14. Participants and mentors will conduct themselves according to the mandates of Mark 12:28-31 and 1 Corinthians 13 in all interactions with fellow Academy participants and the general public.

15. Participants acknowledge and agree that violation of this Code of Conduct may result in dismissal from the Academy

Maintain Unity

The Academy is about training Christians to be effective as they respond to Jesus' command to take the gospel to the world using biblical evangelism.

Beyond the theological distinctives clearly delineated in the application, there are no theological litmus tests for participation in the Academy—for neither participants nor team leaders or lady mentors. All Academy leaders and participants are encouraged to maintain their theological, denominational, and philosophical distinctives while extending grace to other leaders and participants who may not agree with them on every point in these various spiritual areas.

Theological debate is not tolerated during the Academy; to the extent such conversations can be reasonably monitored and curtailed. The reason is very simple. Our focus at the Academy is very narrow—training and encouraging brothers and sisters in Christ to present the biblical gospel in a biblical way. There are appropriate times and places for Christians to lovingly discuss finer points of theology; but the time and place for such activities will not be found during the Academy.

We expect all of those who participate in the Ambassadors’ Academy to come away from the experience changed—not changed from Calvinist to Arminian, or vice versa; not changed from non-charismatic to charismatic, or vice versa; not changed from Baptist to Presbyterian, or vice versa. The expectation is that every participant will be changed—changed in such a way that they love Jesus Christ more; that they love His Word more; that they love their Christian brethren more; that they love the lost more.

The philosophy of ministry expressed above is necessary for a great evangelism growth experience. It keeps us focused on the call of the Great Commission. It is a philosophy of ministry we plan to maintain, for the glory of God. If you are a follower of Jesus Christ who agrees with this philosophy of ministry, then this Academy is for you. And we look forward to serving our Lord side-by-side with you, for the glory of Jesus Christ.

Liability Release, Waiver, Discharge and Covenant Not to Sue

The Academy is an intensive training program, which incorporates instructions in a seminar setting, and field training during the long, arduous, and joy-filled street evangelism and open-air preaching. All participants must be in reasonably good health when taking part in street evangelism.

This is a legally binding Release, Waiver, Discharge and Covenant Not to Sue (collectively, “Release”), made voluntarily by me, the undersigned Releasor, on my own behalf, and on behalf of my heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives and assigns (hereinafter collectively, “Releasor,” “I” or “me”, which terms shall also include Releasor’s parents or guardian, if Releasor is under 18 years of age) to ______________

As the undersigned Releasor, I fully recognize that there are dangers and risks to which I may be exposed by participating in the Academy, during the street evangelism portions of the Academy, or other activity which is attached to and incorporated in this Release (the “Activity”). As the undersigned Releasor, I understand that Living Waters Europe does not require me to participate in this Activity, but I want to do so despite the possible dangers and risks and despite this Release. With informed consent, and for valuable consideration received, including assistance provided by Living Waters Europe, as the undersigned Releasor, I agree to assume and take on myself all of the risks and responsibilities in any way arising from or associated with this activity, and I release Living Waters Europe and all of its affiliates, divisions, departments and other units, committees and groups, and its and their respective governing boards, officers, directors, principals, trustees, legal representatives, members, owners, employees, agents, administrators, assigns, and contractors (collectively “Releasees”), from any and all claims, demands, suits, judgments, damages, actions and liabilities of every name and nature whatsoever, whenever occurring, whether known or unknown, contingent or fixed, at law or in equity, that I may suffer at any time arising from or in connection with the Activity, including any injury or harm to me, my death, or damage to my property (collectively “Liabilities”), and I agree to defend, indemnify, and save Releasees harmless from and against any and all Liabilities.

As the undersigned Releasor, I recognize that this Release means I am giving up, among other things, all rights to sue Releasees for injuries, damages or losses I may incur. I also understand that this Release binds my heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives and assigns, as well as myself. I also affirm that I have adequate medical or health insurance to cover any medical assistance I may require.

I agree that this Release shall be governed for all purposes by law, without regard to such law on choice of law.

By purchasing this ticket, I have read this entire Release. I fully understand the entire Release and acknowledge that I have had the opportunity to review this Release with a lawyer / attorney / solicitor / barrister of my choosing if I so desire, and I agree to be legally bound by the Release.
